蓋勾亞守宮因頭骨後方有類似西方神話「石像鬼」的角狀突起而得名。牠們擁有如大理石般的迷人體色，且性格沉穩，是新喀里多尼亞守宮中體格最強壯的代表。
- 原生於新喀里多尼亞南部的灌木叢林，學名 auriculatus 意指「有耳朵的」。
Native to southern New Caledonia; the specific name "auriculatus" means "eared," referring to its cranial bumps. - 擁有強大的「斷尾再生」能力，與睫角守宮不同，新生的尾巴外觀與功能幾乎無異。
Unlike Crested Geckos, Gargoyle Geckos can regenerate their tails if dropped, appearing almost identical to the original. - 腳趾擁有強大的抓握力與利爪，能輕鬆攀爬粗糙的樹皮與岩石表面。
Equipped with strong claws and toe pads, allowing them to climb rough bark and rocky surfaces with ease. - 雜食性，接受果泥飼料（CGD），但比其他守宮更偏好攝取昆蟲蛋白質。
Omnivorous; readily accepts fruit diet (CGD) but has a higher preference for insect protein. - 體型圓潤厚實，行動較為緩慢慵懶，是非常適合上手互動的寵物。
